Hi Guys, so my new journal is all about my experience with drawing portraits, Art has been a part of my life since childhood,  and this journal is  all about how I started drawing portraits, when I started it, and who inspired me and all that, so, starting with how I Started it, I’ve been using twitter since starting of 2013 and I wasn’t even on deviant art when I started drawing portraits, but after few months I saw many people tweeting and posting their art on twitter like portraits, and other beautiful drawings ,and I was like damn this is so good, and I want to try this too, I was so passionate at that time . So, I started searching more art and drawings on Google, and after finding tons of amazing art, I found deviant art, so, I decided to join it. After joining it, I found myself to be completely in a different world. And it was just amazing :) But When I started drawing faces of people, I found it really hard, It was so hard to draw at that time, My first drawing was of Selena Gomez but I didn’t posted it, cause it was so badly drawn, Then I made some more drawings of selena, and I posted it too, Those were also bad but still I uploaded it, because I wanted to see how you guys react on that. And I got some favorites by few people, and It made me really happy :) After that I keep on practicing more and more day by day but still my portraits didn’t look good, At many points I got disappointed but that wasn’t an end for me, Then I tried some other arts too, like nail art, abstracts, etc. and it was really fun to do :) + I also tried photography and it was like one of my fav. Things to do along with drawing. So, overall my experience with art was amazing, I love it so much :):) I love deviant art :):) and if you want to know who inspires me, so I want to say it’s you guys, every single one of you . You guys are so beautiful and very inspiring :) Also, there are many people in my family who always appreciate my work since the starting, and I want to thank every one of you who has been a part of this beautiful journey, I know I’am still figuring out at drawing portraits but I hope that you’ll like my new drawings, I’ve to work hard more, so, I’m practicing every day.

There are some points that I want to share with you all of my experience with drawing portraits:

    1.       It’s really important to see the face and the person you’re going to draw when you’re a beginner, I think you should choose an easy face which is simple not complex, so, that you can show your skills more efficiently.

    2.       When you’re starting to draw a face, make sure that you start with the eyes, I usually start with the eyes, because when you draw it right you can feel the face of the person that you’re drawing right from it.

    3.       After eyes, make nose and lips, and see the length between the eyes and nose and between nose and lips, so that the shape of the face will become accurate when you work on the outer features and shape of the face.

    4.       Eyes, nose and lips are the main features of the face, so, focus more on that while drawing, give more time to them while drawing.

    5.       Use the right materials for drawing different parts of the face, first make a rough sketch of all the parts of the face and then make it dark. I use 2H graphite pencil to make a light sketch, after then I use some dark pencils like 2B, 3B, 5B, 6B to make it dark according to the different parts of the face.

    6.       For coloured drawings too, make a light sketch and then use different colours to give tone to the face, use shades of brown, red, pink, and orange to colour the face.

    7.       Time really matter when you’re drawing a portrait. A good drawing takes time. So, give your time while you’re drawing it. The part that takes time while drawing for me are the eyes, lips and hair + the detailing part of the picture.

    8.       For me, I found the most difficult part of drawing portraits is the hair portion and mouth portion, I usually get wrong here. So, work more on that part that you found more difficult, keep practicing.

    9.       Also, when you draw the shape of the face, I never get it accurate. So, for me shape of the face is also tougher to draw. But as you draw more and practice more you get it right according to the time period.

    10.   Sometimes, there are so many details on a picture, and if you want to draw it right, focus and give as much as time you can give while drawing to get it perfect. The detailing portion takes so much time.

    11.   The materials that you use is really important, so, use the best brands for the tools for drawing portraits, brands like Faber Castell, Prismacolour etc.

    12.   At last I want to say the more you practice , the more good you become, Cause practice makes a man perfect, so keep practicing, be passionate, be confident, and believe in yourself, and see others work too, to keep yourself motivated that I always do. I’am also not good at drawing portraits but I keep on practicing because that’s the only key to become perfect. Thank you :)

    13.   Have Fun with the drawing :) :)  and enjoy the moment while you’re drawing…..

    14.   Explore Yourself….
